Bluetooth® Hardware

We use dedicated Bluetooth devices called Access Servers, which are small discrete boxes no bigger than a broadband router. Each box has up to a 150m range, (although this is also dependant on the phone's Bluetooth range, so in reality this would be less - typically 20m). These are powerful and highly configurable units, and each device can communicate with up to between 7 and 21 users simultaneously, depending on the equipment we install, suited to your environment.

We can also configure multiple boxes to work together in the same area and provide infrastructure planning, and build more sophisticated campaigns and systems over and above the standard push marketing solutions. The boxes can optionally be remotely managed and (re)configured over the 3G/GPRS wireless network, so they do not have to be connected to your company's network infrastructure.

In addition to this, we can integrate Wi-Fi to provide Internet access - for example, a free Wi-Fi hotspot at your event. We can also supply battery packs if you want to use the equipment in remote locations with no mains power for long periods of time.

There are cheap solutions out there which is simply a piece of software to run on a PC or a laptop with a Bluetooth dongle which can usually only connect up to 7 users at time. However, there are several problems associated with these solutions, such as it being less convenient to leave a PC or laptop in a specific location, they have a lot less capabilities and capacity and normally cannot be remotely managed.
